Jeffrey Morgenthaler wanted something playful and a little unexpected, so he leaned into tropical flavors. This passion fruit cold brew recipe is bright and easy, with a soft coconut note and a touch of vanilla to round it out.
Ingredients
For Drink:
- 1.5 ounces Sweetened Thai Coconut Milk Syrup (Equal parts Thai coconut milk & sugar, plus a few drops of vanilla extract)
- 4 ounces cold brew
- 1 ounce Oregon Fruit Passion Fruit Smooth Pourable Fruit
For garnish:
- Nutmeg, fresh or dried
- Dried lime wheel
Directions
Step 1
Make the coconut milk syrup: Combine equal parts by weight of Thai coconut milk and sugar in a saucepan. Heat gently, stirring, just until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Stir in a dash of vanilla extract. Let cool before using.
Step 2
Build the drink: pour 4 fluid ounces cold brew directly into a glass. Add 1.5 fluid ounces sweetened Thai coconut milk syrup, then the 1 fluid ounces Passion Fruit Pourable Fruit.
Step 3
Ice and garnish: Top with ice. Garnish with 1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg (dried is fine, too!) and 1 dried lime wheel. Serve.
