Fall 2025 Limited Release: Loganberry & Golden Raspberry

For Fall 2025, Oregon Fruit is proud to release two rare, limited-time caneberries: Loganberry and Golden Raspberry. Both are grown just down the road from us, at Bauman Farms, our trusted Oregon partner. Hand-picked at peak ripeness, these berries are transformed into our aseptic purees—delivering vibrant color, true-to-fruit flavor, and consistent results for brewers, cider makers, and food innovators.

Loganberry: Bold, Complex, and Hand-Harvested

A natural hybrid of blackberry and raspberry, the Loganberry stands out for its deep ruby color and layered flavor—equal parts tart and sweet. With delicate fruit that can’t be machine-harvested, loganberries are very rare on the market and prized by makers for their flavor complexity.

  • Flavor Profile: Tart, juicy, with rich berry depth
  • Best Uses: Sours, barrel-aged beers, wheat ales, fruit IPAs, or stouts paired with chocolate notes
  • Color Impact: Cloudy red-purple hue that enhances visual appeal

This is the first year Oregon Fruit is offering Loganberry puree, making it a truly special addition to our lineup. Loganberries are often used as an adjunct, added after fermentation to showcase their berry-forward character. Beyond brewing, loganberry juice has long been crafted into wines and ciders—including Bauman’s own Loganberry Cider, which has taken home top awards like Best of Show at the Great Lakes International Cider & Perry Competition.

Golden Raspberry: The “Champagne of Raspberries”

The Golden Raspberry (Rubus idaeus) is a showstopper—sometimes called the “champagne of raspberries” for its rarity, elegant golden hue, and delicate flavor. Unlike red raspberries, golden raspberries are low in anthocyanins (the pigment that produces red color), giving them a pale golden glow and a flavor that leans honeyed and floral with just a touch of tang.

  • Flavor Profile: Sweet, floral, with hints of apricot, citrus, and stonefruit
  • Best Uses: Golden sour ales, barrel-aged beers, spontaneous fermentations, and even raspberry sodas
  • Brewing Techniques: Add post-fermentation for aromatic retention, or age on fruit in oak barrels for layered complexity

Golden Raspberry puree delivers a bright acidity and softer raspberry profile, making it an ideal choice for lighter bases where delicate fruit character can shine.

Local Fruit, Crafted for Creators

Both Loganberry and Golden Raspberry purees are:

  • Locally grown at Bauman Farms in Oregon’s Willamette Valley
  • Shelf-stable and aseptic, for consistent quality batch after batch
  • Free of added sugar or artificial flavors

Limited Harvest. Limited Supply.

Because these caneberries are so rare and labor-intensive to grow, availability is extremely limited. Once they’re gone, they won’t be back until next season—if at all. Makers looking to set their fall and winter releases apart should plan to secure their supply once they're released!
