ABOUT US

We  serve and inspire those who want more than just a bland peach or a lifeless cherry. Who prefer fruits bursting with the honesty of the earth they come from.

From the eccentric chefs and renegade bartenders to the midnight bakers and the sunrise pancake makers, our goal is to provide you with the highest quality real fruit ingredients you can get. So that you can bring your ideas to life.

WHAT WE STAND FOR:

OUR VALUES

Quality

We don’t cut corners. Every batch of fruit meets the same high standards, from field to finished product. If it’s not good enough for our name, it doesn’t leave our doors.

Collaboration

We believe the best ideas come from working side-by-side. Whether it’s a new recipe or a new process, we’re partners from the first conversation to the final pour.

Community

We’ve built strong, cooperative bonds with our growers based on a foundation of respect and integrity. That’s why many have worked with us for generations.

We approach all our relationships the same way. Whether customer, employee, community or grower: We know that if we do right by them, they’ll do the same for us.

Agility

We keep things moving. Quick to respond, fast to adapt, and always ready to find a better way. It’s how we stay useful to the people we serve.

Perseverance

This isn’t easy work — and that’s kind of the point. We show up every day with the same commitment: get it done, do it right, and keep at it until it’s great.

Our History

Founded in 1935

Oregon Fruit is founded in Salem, Oregon by the Gehlar family in 1935. Salem, Oregon lies in the heart of the Willamette Valley, one of the most fertile parts of the country.

This region, now known primarily for wine, was then home to some of the best fruit on the planet. Based on proximity to fresh fruit, Oregon Fruit was founded to share what we grow in Oregon by processing and canning high quality cane berries and cherries.

A growing craft movement

High quality fruit purees are introduced to the growing brewing community in Oregon, where some of the country's best beer originates.

Early craft beer pioneers adopt these purees and use fruit to push the limits of what was then becoming known as craft beer.

A national expansion into food & beverage

Oregon Fruit introduces a lineup of fruit purees and compotes for culinary and beverage applications in foodservice.

Family owned since 1935

Oregon Fruit has been family-owned since its founding by the Gehlar family in 1935. In 2011, the Maletis family purchased Oregon Fruit to preserve it's place in the community.

The Maletis family, known for helping pioneers in craft beer expand their reach, have deep ties to Oregon and are committed to building a legacy of caring about the community and people they work with.

Unsweetened Raspberry Pourable Fruit

The future of Oregon Fruit lies in craft beverages

In 2024, Oregon Fruit launched a shelf-stable line of fruit purees designed for craft coffee, bar and restaurant beverage applications.

Pourable Fruit and Unsweetened Purees offer craft-quality fruit ingredients without the hassle or cost of traditional frozen purees.
